The award is created by bloggers, for bloggers to encourage a sense of community and support. When nominated you have to answer eleven questions and come up with eleven of your own to send to eleven other inspirational bloggers. Let’s do this!
How long have you been blogging?
I’ve been writing in some capacity for several years, but I’ve only been running Oddball Content since December 2017. It’s my pride and joy.
What is your favourite genre of book?
I like quirky stories like Breakfast of Champions by Kurt Vonnegut, or Everyone’s a Aliebn When Ur a Aliebn Too by Jomny Sun.
Do you have a favourite adaptation? Least favourite?
I don’t tend to watch film adaptations of books, so I’m not sure about this one.
How much time do you regularly spend on your blog?
Several hours a week. I watch TV programmes in evenings or on lunch breaks, write up notes as I watch then spend a couple of hours writing notes up into blog posts. I also spend loads of time promoting my blog on Facebook, LinkedIn and especially Twitter.
Who would be your dream interview for your blog?
I’d love to interview a professional script writer for a comedy film or TV series. I have plans to start a new section of Oddball Content with posts about film theory, film making and careers in film and TV, so maybe this will happen soon!
What do you do when you hit a writing block or post slump?
I’ve only been running Oddball Content for a couple of months, so this hasn’t happened yet, thank goodness. There are loads of shows on Netflix with comedic potential, so I should never run out of material. Fingers crossed…
Do you have pets? How many and what kinds?
No pets, because I live in a rented house. When my fiancé and I buy our own home we’d like some guinea pigs and maybe a cat, but that won’t be for a few years yet.
Do you have anyone that assists with your blog?
Nope, I do it all myself. I’m in the process of commissioning a freelance graphic designer to make it look more attractive though. I’m so excited, it’s going to look wicked sick.
Do you have any interest in one day writing a novel?
Absolutely, this would be a dream come true. I have no idea what I would write about though. I feel like I need to learn more about plots and characterisation first. Or maybe that’s my problem – too much preparation and not enough doing…
If you could visit anywhere in the world without money being an obstacle, where would you go?
Antarctica, because it would be such an adventure.
Last one is not really a question. Tell me something interesting about yourself.
I am one of the 4%-14% of people who has a genetic hatred of coriander (cilantro for US readers). It is utterly repulsive and I refer to it as the ‘demon herb’.
