A haiku for every queen in RuPaul’s Drag Race season 10

RuPaul's Drag Race - the show where drag queens battle it out to be crowned Next Drag Superstar - has just finished its tenth season, with 21-year-old New Yorker Aquaria taking the top spot.

As always, the glittering cast brought glamour, beauty and drama, drama, drama as they were pushed to their limits completing in fashion and performance challenges.

It's pure poetry. So what better way to capture the queens' charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent than through the Japanese medium of haiku? It makes perfect sense...

Vanessa Vanjie Mateo

A plastic Barbie
Hatches from a floral egg
Sashay, Miss Vanjie

Kalorie Karbdashian Williams

Sand trickling down
The curves of her hourglass
Actually, diamonds

Yuhua Humasaki

Dark birds circle her
Knowing something that we don't
Surely an omen

Dusty Ray Bottoms

The glitter she breathes
Becomes a whole galaxy
Gold dress, silver prize

Mayhem Miller

Denim and diamonds
At a kids' beauty pageant
A six-foot infant

Blair St Clair

Dainty southern belle
A white halo surrounding
That innocent face

Monique Heart

Wheel in the mermaid
She can't stand but she flaps her
Holographic tail

The Vixen

Wearing a dress of
Paper scraps and glue
Her ankles are crossed

Miz Cracker

Candyfloss hairdo
But when thoughts are not so sweet
Candy melts to bones

Monét X Change

Matching green dresses
She taught her to walk but they're
Not really sisters

Asia O’Hara

Butterflies cling on
Your body so comforting
They don't want to leave

Underneath her dress
There's one more! And another!
Always transforming

Kameron Michaels

Red from head to toe
She's lip-syncing for her life
A woman ablaze

Queen reigning in her
Army hat and hero cape
Our drag superstar
